2012-3     Rural, low wealth residencies in Warrenton, Wilkes and Yancey Counties, funded by North Carolina Arts Council

2012     “Pictures and Words: Writing and Illustrating for children,” a two-week workshop for teachers and artists at Penland School of Crafts, Penland, NC; self-publication of Passage: & Its Making, a class resource about creating picture books.

2012     Series of five teacher trainings at Bogue Sound Elementary School centered on boys’ reading and higher order thinking, sponsored by UNC Chapel Hill’s First Schools

2006     Collaborative writing with eighteen after school students at Haw River Elementary School – Wrote a story for a Story Quilt illustrated by Elon University Students
