NOT LIKE EVERY DAY by Stephanie Lucianovic, illustrated by Gabrielle Grimard

Sadly, I received NOT LIKE EVERY DAY written by Stephanie Lucianovic and illustrated by Gabrielle Grimard on the same day of the Minneapolis shootings. It’s a book that I suspect writer and illustrator wish there were no need for. But there is and their evocative pictures and words embrace the feelings of the first person narrative of young Henry who worries about school lockdown drills. His feelings seem real from initial fear to the calming he finds through the caring of his sensitive teacher. I’m not sure that this is a read-aloud as it might cause more concern than comfort, but for the child who is fearful, it’s a definite must! Find a link to this book in the purchase button below.
