HOUDINI’S LIBRARY written by Barb Rosenstock and illustrated by Mar Delmar
Barb Rosenstock provides a different facet of life of the famous magician in HOUDINI’S LIBRARY. Mar Delmar’s richly-colored illustrations aid in depicting the childhood of Hungarian Ehrich Weiss, whose Rabbi father treasured above all his 100-book library. Poverty after immigration meant the books had to be sold, but Ehrich spent all his spare money buying and studying books about magic. These resulted in his fame and the purchase of books that filled all twenty-six rooms of his large home. The backmatter is filled with author facts and the illustrator’s method of dimensionalizing the illustrations. You can find a link to this book in the purchase tab below.
