Writer Bea Birdsong and illustrator Charlie Adler create a romp of a read-aloud, THAT IS NOT A DOG! Ollie, the cat, is a feline of limited experience. He has heard horror stories about them that has made him stay far, far away from anything canine. So when he takes a walk and meets an animal with “black-and-white fur and kind eyes,” Ollie assumes it’s a cow (though the illustrations show otherwise) who knows so much about birdwatching. A “hippo” named Finchley lets him know the fun of playing in puddles.
