The circle of life comes wrapped in wackiness and irony in David Duff’s I WILL EAT YOU IN THE END. Marianna Coppo’s illustrations accent the bizarre conversation between an earthworm, Frank, and dino who has stepped on his earthworm buddy. Instead of grieving Frank explains “we eat everything that dies” and tells his new dinosaur friend “we will eat you in the end.” The ending for the dino happens before the book ends and quickly we fast forward 66 million years and see from flower-filled fields covering dino bones that Frank has fulfilled his wish to “turn him into something nice” after eating him.
