A CRANE AMONG WOLVES written by June Hur, read by Greg Chun and Michelle Lee

One of the most fabulous stories and audios I’ve heard this year come from Greg Chun and Michelle Lee’s whose amazing narrative duet, represents the alliance and attraction of the two main characters whose alternating chapters tell in June Hur’s A CRANE AMONG WOLVES, a 1506 Korean mystery. Lee’s reading is suffused with 17-year-old Isuel’s fury, remorse and desire to free her captured older sister from cruel King Yeonsan Lee shows her willingness to learn sleuthing from Prince Daehyun to achieve her ends. Chun’s portrayal of Daehyun, the wise half-brother to the tyrannical king, has many levels. He shows Daehyun bowing painfully to the increasing demands of the king while slyly, courageously plotting treason. Chun’s representations of the vile King are potent with vitriol and menace, reinforcing the author’s trigger warnings for YA listeners. You can find more information about this book and the audio in the purchase link below.
