A Marvelous Book Journey

I was certain my granddaughter would appreciate the humor of a quirky couple who wanted a pet & the obvious fit was a dog. But her literal interpretation missed what I loved best. Amy June Bates’ hysterical detailing (in word & image) requires a listener who will savor the funny ironies that thread through THE WELCOME HOME, the harkening back to their stated requirements, the oodles of love and acceptance this silly couple put in place to welcome the not-quite-right pets that arrive and finally the joy of arrival at the delayed but perfect pet in the satisfying end!
