DRAGON POST written and illustrated by Emma Yarlett

IOne of my favorite memories was my children’s adoration of the Ahlberg’s JOLLY POSTMAN so I was delighted to find a similar format of an interactive book that resembled a set of letters ready to open in Emma Yarlett’s DRAGON POST. Rather than a collection of separate letters, Yarlett tells an evolving story of Alex who surprisingly becomes the caretaker of a small direction. Worried about said care, Alex writes and receives answers from a fire department about fire risk, a butcher about dietary needs, and a welfare office when concerned about the dragon’s sadness. Letters address the dragon’s loudness and his growth. Not only is the interactive pleasure satisfying, the illustrations and story have humor and some out of the box-of-the-box thinking.  You can find a link to the book in the purchase button below.
