FRONT DESK: GRAPHIC NOVEL, written by Kelly Yang and illustrated by Fumio Obata

Mia Tang is a hardworking, inventive Chinese immigrant new to California in the early 1990’s who takes on running the front desk of her family’s motel when she’s only in fifth grade. The heroine, of this and five subsequent novels, is based very much in the life of the author, Kelly Yang. Now it comes to slightly younger audiences as it appears in graphic novel form, wonderfully adapted by Fumio Obata who captures emotions, story moods, and the courage of this young heroine. Hoping there will be more in this new graphic series. Find out more in the Purchase link below
