HOMETOWN written and illustrated by Shaun Tan

Shaun Tan’s HOMETOWN is a glorious blend of curious plot and exquisite whimsical illustrations which show a girl who describes her home and the love that surrounds her, though illustrations reveal that she is not like the beings she describes as family and friends. We see only the giant claw of her sister, and a grandmother who floats above translucent. When an astronaut a human boy defines her as human and says she doesn’t belong and invites him to leave with him she faces a quandry—stay or go?
