Wheeler, whom I think of as an excellent poet, has rhyming and rhythms that are less graceful than most of her work, but this is a book that is needed and is made to expand everyone’s understanding. She covers five military branches and a variety of family configurations…all who miss and support their families who are serving. Watercolors by David Soman are soft and sensitive.
