My Presentation Today

MY PRESENTATION TODAY IS ABOUT THE ANACONDA, written by Bibi Dumon Tak, illustrated by Annemarie van Haeringen, translated by Nancy Forest-Flier, read by Laura Knight Keating

MY PRESENTATION TODAY IS ABOUT THE ANACONDA by Dutch author Bibi Dumon Tak is the most original non-fiction I’ve ever experienced. It loaded to the brim with sarcasm and facts in equal measure as eighteen animals who present fact about other animals instead of the typical boring reports given by humans who “only look at things through their own human eyes.” Laura Knight Keating’s audio rendition is just as full of voice and humor as she climbs easily into the eighteen unique characters of each contributing animal presenter revealing their attitudes as well as the information they offer through well-chosen accents and expressive posturing. Writing and narration are voice-rich, humorous and engaging. Keating’s depictions range from the sassy cleaner fish, the nervous report of a shy hermit crab, and mole who diminishes daddy-long-legs but heaps praise on their “tasty” larvae. Irreverent questions from the multispecies animal audience further illuminate and amuse. Find a link to the book and audio in the purchase button below.
