PIECE OUT , written and illustrated by Alex Willan
Alex Willan’s PIECE OUT has one of the more interesting point of view characters—a game piece that has fallen after family playing and now has to make its way back to its box. The journey, totally seen through its perspective, is what makes the book feel authentic and adds humor. His travail begins as he’s chased by a loud, hungry robot (a vacuum cleaner) and escapes into a cave (under the sofa) and continues until a string of rubber bands and a paperclip allow his mounting shelves of games. All things are recognizable and fun to talk about. You can find out more about this book at the purchase link below.
