A dandelion with two seeds flying in front of it.

THE WAY I AM NOW by Amber Smith

Even though Amber Smith’s THE WAY I AM NOW is a disquieting read, it calmed my nerves as I switched back and forth between listening and reading. I listened as I baked biscotti, read as I rested and once again experienced Amber Smith’s spot-on dialogues and emotionally-true vision of the residing effects of a rape, its ugly arms reaching out to the survivor for years after the event! The second protagonist, Josh, whose first person story is told in the book’s alternating chapters, is strong too but Eden who once captured my heart has done so again in this book. Both book and audio are available at the Indy link below.
