THE WINDEBY PUZZLE: HISTORY AND STORY written by Lois Lowry

Anyone who wants a behind the scenes insights of what a true writer goes through in creative process need go no further than Lois Lowry’s THE WINDEBY PUZZLE: HISTORY AND STORY. Truly I’m not sure which I like better the two stories she creates to explain the life of a 2000 year old bog body or reading about Lowry’s making peace with anachronistic character choices in a wish for what might have been. Both are winding and wonderful. I understand why Lowry follows her muse, admire her spirit of questioning, her dedication to her characters and I’m so glad she followed the paths she did.
