VULTURE VIEW written by April Pulley Sayre and illustrated by Steve Jenkins

The creators of Theodor Suess Geisel Honor Book, VULTURE VIEW, both died four years before this books republication, but I have fond memories of this book. In 2007, I was fell in love with vultures, a bird I’d previously found distasteful. But April Pulley Sayre’s ease with word choices that are simple but evocative and lyrical make the text soar and Steve Jenkins’ paper cut illustrations accent the magic of spreading wing spans and the industry of feasting of foods that “reek.” You can find out more about this book in the purchase link below.
