Hilarity follows the misadventures of a young black girl whose lack of knowledge about idioms has her investigating her Grandpa’s comment that her grandmother “put her foot in the lasagna.” Not knowing this as a compliment to the chef, Venus takes his words literally and is soon off to find body parts in the lasagna that her grandmother makes with a secret recipe. One misadventure leads to another as her escaped hamster runs riot in the dish, she reduces it to a mush that covers the kitchen, and one disaster spawns another. The fast-moving plot is filled with mystery and humor.
