My big feelings granddaughter has cued me into watching for picture books that will speak directly to the kiddos that need them. Rebecca Van Slyke’s THE POWER OF YETI takes a child intimidated by other’s talents and his own insecurities and places him in a fantastical setting as he discovers that he will grow into his yet (or yeti). Humor comes from the situation, dialogue and G. Brian Karas’ illustrations which contrast and blend realities.
